The only real downside we found was the positioning of the rod holders which can easily catch onto paddles during use; causing annoyance at best but potential injury at worst! Therefore if possible we recommend removing them completely (by carefully cutting them off) – although this will mean sacrificing their intended purpose unfortunately!
