Intex Challenger Inflatable Kayak is an ideal choice for those who want to enjoy the great outdoors without breaking the bank. With a price tag of only $49.99 on sale, this kayak offers excellent value for money and provides hours of fun in any body of water with a wind speed factor below 12mph. We recently purchased two Intex Challenger K1 Kayaks and took them out for an enjoyable 3-hour session that left us feeling highly satisfied with our purchase.
The quality was better than expected, with no defects in either kayak despite our dogs jumping in and out of it frequently. The collapsible oars were also surprisingly good; they were easy to assemble, didn’t clip our hands or feel loose while paddling, and provided enough power to get us where we wanted to go at cruising speeds. The weight was around 20 lbs which made transporting the kayaks very convenient – we could just throw them into the trunk whenever we felt like going out!
Pumping up both kayaks was incredibly fast after getting used to it - 63 pumps for the base and 44 pumps for the top - thanks largely due to its Boston Cap which only allows air flow one way when pumping up. Also worth mentioning is its inflatable seat which sits quite high if you inflate both bottom sections but can be adjusted by inflating just one section instead; this makes sitting comfy as well as providing more legroom space within the cockpit area. Finally, tracking was superb; even when subjected to strong winds (9-15 mph) during our session, these kayaks stayed on course effortlessly throughout each turn we made without ever veering off track or flipping over unexpectedly!
There are some minor areas that can be improved upon though: firstly, whilst adequate enough given its price point, its supplied carrying bag leaves much room for improvement – recycled grocery totes are probably sturdier than this bag! Secondly, these inflatable kayaks do lean slightly towards one direction but adjusting your posture/paddles should help counterbalance it easily enough once you get used to it; alternatively you could try letting out some air from certain sections or move things around accordingly until balance is achieved properly again if needed too!. All in all however these minor issues don't detract from what has been a truly satisfying experience overall - definitely worth taking a chance on if you're looking for something affordable yet reliable!
