Perception Pescador Pilot Fishing Kayak

  • Lawn chair style mesh seat with 2-level seat adjustment and breathable mesh for ultimate all-day comfort and no pain
  • Pilot drive pedal system can be fully recessed into hull for zero draft
  • Leak-proof one-piece construction with built-in buoyancy for added safety
  • Large front and rear open storage for cooler, tackle, and other gear
  • Gear tracks, fish finder consoles & 4 Rod holders for anglers
  • Integrated accessory rails on each gunwale for fish finders, Rod holders and other accessories

The Perception Pescador Pilot Fishing Kayak is a great choice for those looking to get out on the water for an extended period of time. With its pedal drive, you can cruise all day at around four miles per hour, making it perfect for exploring lakes and rivers or even taking on larger bodies of water like the Gulf. It's also incredibly stable in choppy conditions, with waves breaking over the kayak without issue – other than having to scoop up live shrimp that were washed aboard!

Despite being relatively affordable compared to many alternatives, there are no real compromises when it comes to features; this boat is packed full of them. From a rudder that allows surprisingly tight turning radius and works both forward and reverse, through to two storage compartments located in front of the seat (though these aren’t waterproof) and secure paddle storage slots at the rear – everything has been thoughtfully considered.

However, despite being well-made overall there have been some issues reported by users who have had their boats for longer periods of time. For instance, one user experienced problems with their rudder lift mechanism which eventually broke after two years' use - something which could be potentially dangerous if out at sea without a working rudder - while another found that hardware on their seat had completely rusted away due to saltwater exposure.

Fortunately though help is available from Perception's technical support line should any spare parts be required; however they don't stock many spares themselves so finding replacements may prove difficult as they refer owners to third party sites instead - where locating the right parts can be tricky without good diagrams or part numbers provided by manufacturer. Additionally replacement parts tend to be expensive: replacing just the seat (as brackets aren’t sold separately) costs more than $200 alone! All things considered though this kayak provides excellent value for money considering its price tag and range of features included – just bear in mind that maintenance will likely need doing over time as with any boat rather than expecting it remain problem free as might be expected from a simpler model such as my own 15 year old Pungo 120 which still looks brand new!
