The Intex Excursion Pro Kayak is the perfect solution for those who want a kayaking experience without the hassle of lugging around a heavy, traditional vessel. Weighing in at just under 50lbs and packing down to an easily transportable size, this inflatable kayak allows users to take their paddling adventures on-the-go with ease. With its three air chambers and I-beam construction floor, it also provides plenty of stability and security while out on the water.
In terms of performance, we were very impressed with how well this kayak handled during use. Despite having more than 300lb combined weight onboard (including two Camelback bags), we felt safe in our mangrove protected area - even with alligators nearby! The boat was incredibly rigid when inflated properly (we verified using the included gauge) so there was no flexing or wobbling as we moved through choppy waters. Tracking was good too; it didn’t feel like much extra energy needed to be put into paddling and turning in place was easy thanks to its short skeg design.
Aside from life vests, everything you need comes packaged together - making it an ideal starting kit for anyone looking to get into kayaking without breaking the bank. Setup took us about 15 minutes total but deflation only took a few minutes which meant packing up afterwards wasn’t too much trouble either - although if you plan on hiking any distance with it then you may struggle alone due to its weight!
Despite some minor criticisms such as cheap quality oars and lack of adjustable features for different arm sizes, overall we found these boats great value for money considering what they offer: portability & convenience paired with solid performance & durability that can handle up 400-450 lbs combined weight capacity depending on where you look online! We've only been out twice so far but are already looking forward many more fun days spent exploring nature by paddle power!
