We recently had the opportunity to review the Driftsun Rover Inflatable Tandem Kayak, and we were more than impressed. This kayak is a great choice for those looking for an inflatable tandem that can handle a variety of conditions. The engineering and manufacturing of this kayak was top-notch, making it both lightweight and rigid enough to tackle whitewater or surf with ease.

The weight savings compared to other inflatables comes from its single layer side bladders which are made from airtight fabric, as opposed to three layers found in older models such as Advanced Elements 2-person inflatable kayaks. Additionally, the drop stitch floor provides rigidity similar to an inflatable SUP board while still allowing it to be inflated up to 6 psi - providing plenty of room for expansion when exposed to sunlight or heat.

What really sets this Driftsun apart though is its removable keel and self-draining design which makes it perfect for use in surf or whitewater without having worry about filling up with water like some old technology designs do. It also includes paddles that break down into four parts so they fit nicely into the included backpack along with the pump and two life vests (vests not included). Setup time is significantly reduced due to no separate floor removal being required – just pump it up, insert seats, and you’re ready go!
